Honey Apple Topping

A delicious topping that brings out the natural sweetness of ice cream, pound cake and shortcake.

Ingredients

 

2 teaspoons Sonoran Desert Blend Honey [link to add]

2 teaspoons Sonoran Mesquite Honey

2 apples, pared, cored and diced

1 cup apple juice

½ cup orange juice

3 tablespoons golden raisins

2 teaspoons grated orange peel

4 teaspoons cornstarch

1 tablespoon water

Directions

  1. Combine honeys, apples, apple juice, orange juice, raisins and orange peel in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to boil; then reduce heat to low and simmer about 5 minutes or until apples are tender.
  3. Mix cornstarch with water; add to apple mixture.
  4. Cook and stir until mixture boils and thickens.
